pedro's back in town... and that makes the mets even more electric to watch and cheer for... we went to pedro's first home game back on the mound and he did not disappoint! he gave up no runs & he smacked a double and a single and scored a run. his fans cheered wildly.
the final score: mets 4, astros 1.
my favorite player watch: shawn green got it done at first base; lastings milledge sadly did not have any field action, only a pinch hitter.
and i forgot to mention pedro's curtain call yesterday... from today's new york times:
After the public-address system played the Ace Frehley lyrics, “I’m back, back in the New York groove,” the fans kept chanting “Pay-dro, Pay-dro.” MartÃnez, who had already put on a jacket, burst out of the dugout, pointed his fingers like pistols in various directions and even kicked his leg like a Rockette.
“It was great to give something back to the fans,” MartÃnez said. “After being so loyal and so faithful all year, I know that they have been waiting.”
