...calling all peeps...

in my quest to find and document street art in the hoboken area, i've been directed to (thanks to an artist-friend) the agitators collective, a group of artists whose mission is to collectively engage the jersey city community through "the happy burden of art making."

check out their 7,000 peeps installation from may 06. (i used to love peeps, fresh out of the freezer, but i gave the chemical concoctions up for good...)

also see the photos of how the collective put this peeps parade together... happy peeping!

and if you like this stuff, check out the agitators collective and many other artists at the jersey city artists studio tour on october 6-7.

my mom is the biggest peeps fan around. she also eats them right out of the freezer, and does not need Easter for an excuse. if I eat more than 3, I want to vomit. But they sure looked cool in the video. Great idea, but kinda a waste of peeps. Unless they were eaten afterward. Kinda doubt it.

daddydan, true, when i looked at the photos of putting this installation together, i thought, ouch-- that's alot stuff, packaging, etc. that gets used for the sake of art... some pix show the peeps as time went by, getting all dirty... maybe folks could have picked at them right after the filming. also check out the skull made of candy corns and black cat peeps! on the agitators site.

i agree with dan, peeps have never agreed with my sweet tooth, or stomach, but this concoction is fantastic, what would've been kind of interesting is to film the swarms of ants that most likely smelled the peeps for miles around, most likely not as peaceful, or for the squeamish, but at least something most likely ate them. great idea.
