strange but true, there is now a real beach in hoboken overlooking the manhattan skyline...
nj.com reported today on the new waterfront park/beach at maxwell place. we went to see the new green space 2 weeks ago after it was open to the public but we remained skeptical about the concept of a hudson river beach until today... 6 acres of park located at the site of the old maxwell house coffee company that includes a pier, playground and boathouse.

what's the condition of the hudson river? legitimately, would any person confidently let their children or themselves swim there?
Perhaps proximity to the pollution will promt some increased clean-up action.
sigh... what's a beach on slimy water?
Is this philasurfer? They do triathalons every year in the Hudson...while not great...it is being cleaned up.
Certainly we need to clean up the Hudson, can we not do both?
