What the Troop Draw Down is Really About

We will be at the same levels next summer we were a summer ago. It is a bait and switch and the Democrats twiddle their thumbs saying - "hey we just don't have the votes." He is the President, the Commander -in Chief. Although read this article that says it only takes 51 Senators to End this War. It is worth it.

See here the Center for American Progress' take on what the President said last night. It is actually a pre-rebuttal argument, but it gets the points right.

It's just such a lie that The Decider would say that he will bring 30,000 troops home by next summer because the surge has been so successful! As Salon.com reports, it was predetermined that the surge would end by next summer because there are no more troops to sustain it after that and the tours of duty will not be extended past their already extended 15 months. As Admiral Mullen put it, and I paraphrase: Even if Bush and the other deciders were to fall into a coma and no one made any decision or did anything at all, the natural course of things would be for the surge to end beginning in April 2008.

Furthermore, it is a sneaky lie for the Decider to praise himself for bringing 30,000 troops home by next summer since even this reduction will not bring us to pre-surge levels!

He is a delusional liar and his presidency would be a great tall tale if it wasn’t ripping the fabric of our nation and everything we’ve stood for since our inception to pieces.
