Hoboken Mayor Roberts Compares Himself To Rosa Parks

space in the mile square city of hoboken is precious indeed. when luxury condo uber-lame developers toll brothers tried to block access to a park by the waterfront so maxwell place property owners could have their own private space, the hoboken city council (thanks to newly elected dawn zimmer) sprang into action. after pressure from mayor david roberts, the state's department of community affairs and the governor's office, toll brothers took down the cement wall. access restored to the public! and the mayor announced to the world (through the jersey journal, i mean):

"This was a real accomplishment for the city. Like Rosa Parks, we would not go quietly. We stood up and said, 'no!'," said Roberts. "This whole week has been like a Bruce Springsteen song, really - we've had our disappointments and arguments."

see the journal's location column buzz about roberts and his sistah in struggle comparison.
rosa parks stood up to 350 years of white supremacy and mayor roberts moved a couple of rocks. go get 'em dave! and what springsteen song would roberts be referencing? A Brilliant Disguise ... no that would describe his political career. Glory Days? when he could fool hobokenites into voting for him? nah. aha! Secret Garden. or maybe... The River...
