A simply Stunning Display of Power in Numbers: Watch it, You Will Not Be Disappointed
I could not avoid posting this video. It is absolutely stunning. I thought about it too. What symbolic meaning is here. And this is how I see it. The little water Buffalo that is captured are the people, us. The Lions are the Republicans, neocons with all the power, the Crocodiles are the democrats (you will see not much of an attempt, just a selfish act to steal the prize) But, when the people rise up...

Power in numbers...this video made me think too. It made me think how animals may be a lot more civilized than their 'superiors', namely humans. I could point to the calf, that keeps fighting, not giving up when things get really bad for it. Even when surrounded by the lions, it fights, and keeps up. I can only hope that we are fighting for something, and not just giving in to complacency, resignation and the status quo. Are we really interested in a better world, or did we just go to that school, whether it be CUNY Law, Fordham, NYU, Harvard, whatever, to make cash, and cash in. Where are the hordes that voted for the last Idol? Where are the Harry Potter addicts who waited on line to get a childrens book? Where are the Iphone buyers who braved the streets of New York to get a souped-up cell phone?
They can do what they want, wated their precious time, make their millions, sit in front of bullshit reality TV, cuz it is their right in a democracy, but I do not want to see surprised, stupid faces when they live in a Sahara, or their water runs out, or gas is $6 a gallon, or their next president invades Iran and puts up a referendum on the reinstatement of the military draft, or their cousin dies in Iraq, or their dog dies of Chinese food poisoning, or their 6 year old son is diagnosed with morbid obesity.
i also liked how the 'media' or guy filming the lion/buffalo showdown, just filmed. He didnt film on behalf of GE or MCI or Microsoft or Rupert murdoch. He didnt film worried about offending any censors or with any fears of being seen as unpatriotic. He just filmed what he saw. That was nice...and rare.
i hope that more and more people, and not just the same group of 'liberal elites' come together and start to realize that their different little causes are less imprtant than uniting under a front of self-sufficiency. If we dont realize that we are all in it together, and that one group isnt the God group and the rest the unchosen, we are all fucked...including the "chosen."
