A Poem in Picture

Every year, I head up for at least a few days to the Adirondack Mountains, in upstate New York. I have been going there for as long as I can remember. These days, I go less often, since I live in Brazil, and when I go, it is nice that most things look the same. But 'progress' does come to all corners, and everything is for sale these days, and that includes log cabins. I saw this slightly unnerving sight on a walk with my parents, and I snapped a quick shot of a seeming clash of cultures...the free market and the forest. In the Adirondacks today, however, condos go up, skiers are wooed, cafes sprout up, and SUVs are plentiful.

And the outside creeps in.
