Paul Wolfowitz is alleging he is the victim of a "trumped up smear campaign." Though, he has already admitted to giving his girlfriend, Shaha Riza a generous pay package and is under investigation for other ethics questions. As rawstory reported yesterday: "A committee, drawn from the full board of 24 representatives of the World Bank, is examining not just Riza's pay deal, but also Wolfowitz's hiring of former White House aides to influential, and highly paid, jobs in his inner circle."
It seems this really is the underlying theme of the Bush administration, how to enhance your friends while not giving one damn about the people the government is supposed to serve.
