Democrats Just Got Stronger in NJ-3

From Political wire.

In NJ-3, state Sen. Diane Allen (R) announced that she would not be running for the seat of retiring Rep. James Saxton (R-NJ)," CQ Politics reports. "Allen’s departure leaves Republicans currently without a major candidate for the seat -- creating, at least for now, a heightened risk for Republicans in a potential battleground district.

"Furthermore, Allen "did not leave the contest quietly, with a remark that reflected some infighting within the Republican organization in the county that makes up her political base and close to half of the 3rd District’s electorate."

Said Allen: "Now is not the time in my life that I feel prepared to again fight a Democrat opponent, as well as a rogue faction of the Burlington County Republican Party simultaneously."

CQ's current rating on the race is Leans Republican, but this news is likely to move the race to "toss up" status soon
