Live Earth in Latin America Cancelled

Al Gore's brain child for a concert on all seven continents is in jeopardy. A Judge cancelled the Rio Live concert. "Promoted by former Vice President Al Gore, Live Earth concerts are scheduled for London; Tokyo; Johannesburg, South Africa; Shanghai, China; Sydney, Australia; and Hamburg, Germany; and East Rutherford, New Jersey. A band of scientists also will perform in Antarctica, to bring the festival to seven continents." The concerts are scheduled for July 7, 2007. (7/7/07). Imagine if it were on June 6, 2006? The religious fervor to cancel and Gore as Satan would be deafening.

Rio's concert, the only free one for Live Earth, would include performances by Lenny Kravitz, Macy Gray and Pharrell Williams. The proceeds from the other concerts will be going to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a nonprofit organization chaired by Gore. Organizers of the concert confirmed the cancellation, but were hopeful to overturn the ruling.

Man, I live here in Brazil, and I hadnt heard this terrible news. It doesnt really suprise me though. Things in Rio are insane with the violence, corruption and Panamerican Games in a week. Craziness nonstop.
