sarah hood's jewelry reminds me of joseph cornell's boxes filled with bric-a-brac and found objects he collected. she works with real natural materials - leaves, pods, seeds - "to create miniature, artificial worlds within the context of jewelry."
now she works with model railroad landscape materials. see bush/branch necklace & summer tree ring above. hmm, while this stuff is pretty cool to look at as a piece of art, the price tag will give you sticker shock (for stuff found free in nature or from train sets!)... and how the hell do you wear that ring?
