marion cotillard regrets nothing...

another reason to love oscar winner parisian marion cotillard -- not blindly accepting what governments tell us is truth.

the british paper, the telegraph reports today that because of comments she made last year about 9/11, she faces embarrassment and a backlash in the US. blah blah! i hope it only earns her more fans and praise for speaking her mind. good timing to trot out those comments now after her new found fame...

"I think we’re lied to about a number of things," she said, singling out September 11.

Referring to the two passenger jets flown into the World Trade Centre, Miss Cotillard said: "We see other towers of the same kind being hit by planes, are they burned? There was a tower, I believe it was in Spain, which burned for 24 hours.

It never collapsed. None of these towers collapsed. And there [New York], in a few minutes, the whole thing collapsed."

Miss Cotillard suggested that the towers, planned in the early 1960s, were an outdated "money sucker" which would have cost so much to modernise that it was easier to destroy them.

the article also notes that the actress (who gave us the incarnation of edith piaf so beautifully), "is an environmental activist, who once worked as a spokeswoman for Greenpeace."

sorry, sarkozy, but not every parisian is kissing american ass these days.

3K innocent people lost their lives on that day. Ms. Cotillard believes it simply to save on re-modeling costs of the towers. How do you argue with someone so stupid? She also says other towers have remained standing? Really, Ms. Cotillard? Which towers remained standing after being hit by jumbo jets traveling at over 500mph carrying thousands of gallons of jet fuel? Which ones?

You may hate America...and I suppose that is your right. But do not continue to espouse these lies at the anguish of the victims families.

Marion is just as pompous as any French...

Questioning government continues the anguish of the families? Was it not four New Jersey widowers who didn't believe the government in the first place and formed the 9/11 commission? Are they stupid?

Just because someone does not buy the thin line the government stands behind does not make them stupid...there are unanswered questions and until they are answered people will always wonder.

I am not really one of those people, I think conspiracy theorists should have a little more than questions when making claims, but to dismiss these claims by standing behind 3,000 people who were killed assumes Ms. Cotillard and those that do not believe the government story think less of the tragedy of that day.

All evidence to the contrary.

The thin line? Have you not seen video of two jumbo jets slamming into the World Trade Center towers? Have you not seen video of Osama Bin Laden claiming responsibility for the attacks? Have you not seen the countless terrorist attacks Al Qaeda has purportrated on innocent civilians through out the world before and after 9/11? What questions need to be answered that haven't already been answered a thousand times over? Ms. Cotillard accuses my countrymen in the involvement of the murder of 3K of their fellow citizens almost as nonchalantly as most folks might discuss the weather. She doesn't provide salient evidence for her beliefs...no, Ms. Cottilard believes it to be possible simply because Americans were trying to save money on the remodelling of the buildings. While its clear she holds massive contempt for America, her callous discussion of the 9/11 tradegy also demonstrates lack of compassion for the victims and their families.

Why anonymous? At least Ms. Cotillard was not afraid to go on record.

KR, i am not anonymous, but I agree with anonymous. Cotillard must have read one of the books written in France about how either Jews or the FBI, or CIA destroyed it. No, actually her argument is much, much worse. She claims that two jumbo jets were used to save money on "remodeling." Give me a f-in break. Anti-americanism for its own sake is just idiotic.

And this is coming from me, Daddydan, who won't be signing up for any military duty in the near future.

Marion has her head up her ass. this is daddydan. There is nothing radical or progressive in her comment that two jumbo jets may have been usd to do some spring cleaning. It must be nice getting everything stupid thing you say splattered all over the news.

I am no Bush-backer, and will not be going over to kill any 'Arabs' I am not going to be flying a flag outside my house, but wht hte hell was she thinking?

Ok, daddydan, you are starting to sound a little off base here like arguing for argument sake...

Go to the transcript. She doesn't mean, oh for fun let's do remodeling, hahaha. She is talking about the corporate structure in this country, not denying that Osama Bin Laden had anything to do with it, but that the U.S. may have been complicit.

There are numerous reports that suggest things were not on the up and up. These are merely questions, not accusations. Now, I don't know what I believe. I will never subscribe to a conspiracy without concrete evidence, but for someone to say all of the questions have been answered is like the blind leading the blind.

This is not anti-americanism for its own sake, she said this far before she was ever popular here.

I suppose Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, huh?

daddydan, i leave it to the wisdom and theory of naomi klein... read the shock doctrine... her investigative journalism says it all, then ms. cotillard's comments are put in perspective.
