U.S. Complicit With Sudan?


Last week I questioned whether Bush meant what he said about Sudan and sanctions. But, even while condemning the government of Sudan, its genocide and even producing sanctions, the U.S. relies on the Khartoum government to spy on the Iraq insurgency in conjunction with the CIA.


Bush has condemned the genocide, but critics say the U.S. has "soft pedaled the sanctions to preserve its extensive intelligence collaboration with Sudan. Should we be at all surprised? Read the full articles above.

The situation in Sudan has been going on for so long. If the US (and the international community) really wanted to make an impact on ending the atrocities it could have done so a long time ago. Apparently, policits
= money and power are much more important than helping the truly innocent.
