The Radical Right and the assault on democracy

These two stories illustrate what is happening in America and what the far right in this country is all about (and when will moderate Americans speak out against these tactics). It is not about democracy or caring for fellow citizens or non-citizens for that matter. It is about living the way they say, if not you should leave. That is if you are an immigrant, a peace activist, a soldier who speaks out against the war, an atheist, or anyone who disagrees with them in any way. They do not want democracy. They want fascism. And they are getting it.

The first story is about a soldier who is serving in the gulf, but his wife faces deportation. Anti-immigrant groups are intent on deporting this woman who has a 20 month old son.

The second story is the continuation of the Rush Limbaugh saga where he continues to call soldiers who dare to speak out against the war phony soldiers and referred to them yesterday as akin to suicide bombers in Iraq. When will this stop? When will enough be enough?
