Two Olbermann Videos Worth Viewing
The first is a discussion with Hillary Mann-Leverett who discusses the need for a cease fire and in the finality to have a reconciliation government in Palestine that is accepted by the U.S. Alarmingly, she discusses Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State and discusses the advisors she is surrounding herself with are "neo-conservative fellow travellers" and may make us long for the Bush days. Harsh rhetoric, but a wake-up call to us to think we may get a different kind of foreign policy. Maybe Obama will surprise us, but it is looking more and more like that will not be the case.

Hillary is Taking the Fight to the Convention
How far has the Clinton campaign gone to send Lanny Davis (Mr. Joe Lieberman) on to Fox News to tell us that Fox News is the most fair and balanced network? Too far in my opinion.
Make no mistake about this the Clinton campaign is back in full swing claiming Obama is actually like George Bush because he is disenfranchising voters in Michigan and Florida. The campaign is going on the offensive about sexism as well. I saw an argument tonight claiming sexism is the reason she did not win the nomination or is not winning. It has nothing to do with the fact that she has run this campaign like a Republican, she is the candidate of "let's obliterate Iran." She has pulled out every stop, asked for the votes of white, hard working Americans so why not bring up sexism as the reason.
So, let me say a little something about this. There is no doubt sexism has played a part in this campaign especially from the media stand point as has racism - clearly. Arguing which ism is worse is a useless, petty argument that has no place here (though one could make the argument since women make up 58% of the voting in democratic primaries this has not been a disadvantage). Both candidates suffer the hardship of being the first, but I feel as democratic voters are concerned (excluding media bullshit and Republican crazies) each candidate has been given a fair shot by the democratic voting public. You can say W. Virginia and Kentucky would never go for Obama because of "cultural" elements there just as you can say MD., VA. and DC and other southern states were going Obama all the way because of his advantages in garnering most of the black vote.
The argument is petty, vile and stupid. The Clinton campaign is not going away. They are taking this to the convention unless the most powerful democrat in the country stops her. Yes, Nancy Pelosi. Act soon.

Obama Ready to Close this thing Out?
The polls are all done. Real Clear politics has Clinton by five in Indiana and Obama by eight in North Carolina. These are good averages, but do not always tell the whole story. Still, I think they are right. I say Obama wins North Carolina 55-45 and Clinton wins Indiana by a smaller margin at 53-47. I also think if this result holds up then Superdelegates (as they did yesterday) will begin flocking to Obama. She is only 15 ahead right now.We shall see tonight.

Obama v. Hillary in Pa.
I have been contemplating this day, April 22nd for some time. What will happen? Who will win? Hillary of course, but by how much. The late breakers break for Hillary, "bittergate" Hillary's slam on the "activists" and move on.org, Reverend Wright, etc.
Right now the Real Clear poll of polls has Hillary wining with a 6% margin, 49 - 43. approximately. Still with an eight percent margin of undecideds. Many pundits are saying Obama has a ceiling of 43% in the polls which does not bode well for him. "Bittergate" is going to hurt him. Mind you these are all the people seven weeks ago who said he will lose by 20 points in a landslide. Now a six percent margin is a net negative for him. Even if he loses by say 12 points, Hillary only picks up 15 delegates at the most, which he makes back up in North Carolina and a dead heat in Indiana. Where is that narrative?
Regardless, my take is Philadelphia and the suburbs will come out big for Obama and his operations (which magda of the SG was a part of) are legendary right now. I think this picks him up a couple of points. Tie this together with activist gate (because maybe the media does not think it a big deal, but progressives do) Philly breaks huge for him. But, in the end it will not be enough and I am going to predict a large single digit victory. 54 - 45 for Hillary with one percent going somewhere else as it always does. This is a win for Obama as far as I am concerned. At most I think this thing breaks 56-44. At least it can be a four point spread, but I think Hillary will win this thing clearly.
Though, check out the latest Public Policy polling. 49-46 for Obama. Their analysis is pretty succinct: With such a close race the final result tomorrow should hinge on turnout. If there is disproportionately high turnout in the Philadelphia metro area, where Obama has a 58-32 lead, he could pull out a victory. Clinton is dominating throughout pretty much the rest of the state. Go GOTV!

John McCain and Hillary Clinton: the Real Elitists
It is mind boggling to me how Barack Obama is portrayed as an elitist by John McCain and Hillary Clinton. This is like Alice in Wonderland. I hope the people of PA. see through this. If you have not heard this yet, Obama remarked to a question that folks in Pa. are bitter because of government. Here is the full text:
"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them.
"And they fell through the Clinton administration and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are going to regenerate and they have not," he went on. "And it's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
"Everybody just ascribes it to 'white working-class . . . don't want to vote for the black guy,' " Obama said at the fundraiser.
"Here's how it is: In a lot of these communities in big industrial states like Ohio and Pennsylvania, people have been beaten down so long. They feel so betrayed by government that when they hear a pitch that is premised on not being cynical about government, then a part of them just doesn't buy it. And when it's delivered by -- it's true that when it's delivered by a 46-year-old black man named Barack Obama, then that adds another layer of skepticism."
Somehow McCain and Clinton are painting Obama looking down at Pa. voters and as an elitist. McCain and Clinton (I tie these two real elitists together) are of the same stripe, they don't get what working class voters go through and how hard it is to live fucking paycheck to paycheck. Obama, by his comments (and being raised by a single mom) does get it. And this exploitation of the working class voter to vote against their economic interests is as old as the country. I hope Obama succeeds here.
See CNN reporters who see it for what it is. Good for all of them.

The Entire North Carolina Delegation Set to Endorse Obama
Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota is expected to endorse Sen. Obama Monday, according to a Democrat familiar with her plans. Meanwhile, North Carolina's seven Democratic House members are poised to endorse Sen. Obama as a group -- just one has so far -- before that state's May 6 primary, several Democrats say.This also comes as news of Hillary Clinton's campaign is strapped for cash and not paying her vendors. Also news from Gallup yesterday that Barack Obama for the first time has opened up a ten point lead over Mrs. Clinton. Is this the perfect storm coalescing behind Mr. Obama? I still think there is no way she drops out before Pennsylvania or Indiana and North Carolina primary. I just don't see it. Also the Obama camp is now officially declaring victory in Texas because of the delegates he won in the cacuses. The delegate conventions were held this weekend.

Hillary Clinton and Bosnia: You Decide
Here is a video from talking points memo regarding the Bosnia misstatements on the part of Hillary Clinton. The more I see it I don't think they were misstatements, but I think she lied, pure and simple. I don't know why though. How and why did she think she could get away with this? It doesn't make sense. It also doesn't make sense that she would forget though. What do you think?

Obama (Finally) Wins Texas
This is not a joke, the Main Stream Media is finally coming around to the reality. Clinton won the primary 51-48 and 65 delegates to Obama's 61. But, the caucuses are about finishing up and it looks like Obama will gain 37 more delegates to Clinton's 30. I will do the math for you and Obama will win 98 and Clinton 95.
Even the popular vote will be won by Obama. Check it out:

The Commander-in-Chief Threshold
What the fuck is a commander-in-chief threshold? Please can someone explain that to me. Did Bill Clinton pass that threshold in 1992. He was 46 and spent his entire life in Little Rock, AR. This is all nonsense.

Clinton Endorses McCain Again: Lieberman Style
“I think that since we now know Sen. McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it’s imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold,” the New York senator told reporters crowded into an infant’s bedroom-sized hotel conference room in Washington.
“I believe that I’ve done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that and you’ll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy,” she said.
Calling McCain, the presumptive GOP nominee a good friend and a “distinguished man with a great history of service to our country,” Clinton said, “Both of us will be on that stage having crossed that threshold."
Senator Clinton went on to say: She and McCain had traveled to Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan together as she repeated a line that surfaced from the campaign trail. She and McCain “bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign, Clinton said, while “Sen. Obama will bring a speech he gave in 2002,” stating his opposition to the Iraq war as an Illinois state senator.
I don't know about you all, but this is beyond nuts. She is endorsing the Republican nominee over her democratic opponent, the favored (at this point) Democratic nominee. Why? See R. Thelonious post earlier in the day. Here is why:
In all seriousness, Hillary Clinton will not have my vote come November anymore. She has crossed many lines including her vote for the war, the Iran vote and the fearmongering she has engaged in and now endorsing McCain over her fellow Democratic opponent. She is not a democrat, she is a centrist and I don't know if everyone is noticing, but she is becoming more and more acceptable to the right wing. They see Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and the choice is clear for them. I think they may even choose Clinton over McCain on some issues. That is not a joke.
Shame on the Clintons. They are not the Democratic saviors they are made out to be. In fact, they destroyed the democratic party and continue upon that quest. A job well done.
