It's an oxymoron! We are being had by the coal industry. So is the whole argument about ending our dependence on foreign oil and instead resorting to "Drill, baby, drill" slogans. The problem is, we consume too much energy, and the way forward with regard to the environment, economy, national security, and responsible energy policy is to reduce consumption through higher efficiency and alternative sources of energy such as wind, solar, geothermal etc.
