Imagine if the networks followed the Iraq war protests like they are following "teabagging." Is journalism really this bad? On that note it seems the I.Q. for these "tea parties" is about 43, maybe 44.

The Bail-Out Fails

The bail-out failed because of the hypocritical Senate in which they feed, give, serve up $700 billion dollars with no oversight. And now GM has announced they are closing 20 factories because of "low demand." The employees will be laid-off temporarily, but who knows what this means? Here are the hypocrites who voted to give $700 billion dollars to the banks and not to loan $14 billion dollars to the American auto industry.

Stealing the Election New Jersey Style

And if we get a little lazy here thinking we can win the election because Obama is up in the polls, well think again. Along comes the Michigan GOP, the Ohio GOP, the Wisconsin GOP and voila - we have vote caging. Voter caging began just after blacks in the south finally solidified the right to vote. Before the Voting Rights Act of 1965 it was unheard of for black Americans to vote in the deep south. It is a shocking fact when you read this history. Martin Luther King, SCLC, SNCC and a little help from the greatest domestic policy President ever, Lyndon Johnson. Once the vote was solidified and African-Americans began, not only voting, but getting elected to office a new strategy needed to take place. It is called Voter Caging.

That new strategy began in none other than the Garden State. It began in the election of 1981 Governor Tom Kean v Jim Florio. In 1981, the Republican National Committee sent letters to predominantly black neighborhoods in New Jersey, and when 45,000 letters were returned as undeliverable, the committee compiled a challenge list to remove those voters from the rolls. The RNC sent off-duty law enforcement officials to the polls (who were heavily armed) and hung posters in heavily black neighborhoods warning that violating election laws is a crime." This brilliant strategy was used to perfection in Florida in 2000 and has become an art form by these Rethuglicans. Here is what they are doing this year.

Ohio

In Ohio, in this election in seven weeks 600,000 voters have the potential to be removed from the list if they do not pay attention to their mail. Ohio election officials are sending out a mass mailer stamped "do not forward" to all registered voters today (Sept. 5) with an absentee ballot application and other important notices for Nov. 4. If this mailer is not responded to then the GOP will challenge these voters at the polls. A similar mailer went out in March and netted 600,000 undeliverable in five counties who can now have their vote thrown out voting under the wrong address. The National Voter Registration Act prohibits any state from purging names from the voting rolls within 90 days of an election.

Michigan

James Carabelli, the Macomb County GOP leader said on the Michigan Messenger, an on-line publication that they will use foreclosure lists (those who have been so unfortunate to have their home foreclosed this year) to challenge voters at the polls. "We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren't voting from those addresses," Mr. Carabelli was quoted as saying, according to a Sept. 10 article in the Michigan Messenger. The Obama campaign immediately filed a lawsuit, an injunction to stop these tactics.

Wisconsin

The Wisconsin GOP official (the state attorney general) filed a lawsuit in federal court has the potential to slow down poll lines in what will most undoubtedly be the highest turnout in memory. Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen, a Republican, filed the lawsuit Monday in Dane County Circuit Court to get ineligible voters off the rolls. It calls for a court order mandating the Government Accountability Board to cross-check voters who have registered since Jan. 1, 2006, when federal Help America Vote Act legislation required that states implement a voter database to cross-check voter registrations with Department of Transportation, criminal and death records. Criticism of the law suit say it is unnecessary and is deliberately trying to slow down the polls so people who have to work will leave and not vote.

These are the tactics we know about and that are in the public discourse. Who knows what is happening behind the closed doors of the GOP in other swing states? Similar stories have been reported in Kansas and this says nothing of the many new laws that will already disenfranchise voters which are called Voter I.D. laws that voters must show an I.D. at the polls (this is against federal law, but states are free to interpret it for themselves). I.D. laws that are supposed to stop voter fraud, but the case at the Supreme Court could not site one example of voter fraud.

The GOP and the conservative philosophy has always stood for the idea that not everyone should vote; whether you are poor, a minority, disabled, homeless, etc., they will try and stop you at the polls. That is their philosophy, make no mistake about it. If you do not agree with them they do not want you to vote. It is as simple as that. It harkens back to the deep south 1960's when black Americans were murdered and lynched over the right to vote, yet still kept on. Our vote is sacred and should never be tinkered with - ever.

Trent Lott Will Leave the Senate: Who Cares?

Trent Lott is leaving the Senate. Reportedly, it is so he can skirt the new ethics laws on lobbying. He wants to go directly to the free market and bilk the American people outside of elected office. If he waits until the end of the year he will have to wait two years. Thanks, Trent, we hardly knew ya.

He is the very definition of assclown.

Jim Webb Introduces Amendment to Support the Troops (for real though)

The Webb Amendment basically says for how ever long you are deployed in Iraq you need at least that much time away from the battlefield. Of course the "support the troops" Republicans are threatening a filibuster which they did last time with the Dems only receiving 56 votes for this amendment.

I understand these Rethuglicans do not like me or probably anyone who is on this site, but why on earth would they not support a bill like this? Is it truly because all of these assholes have never served a day in their life in the military? They send us to war, but would never go themselves. Fine. All Jim Webb asks that you chicken shit Republicans give these men and women some time off. Nope. "We cannot admit defeat." They are seriously vying for assclown status. We shall see.

Where is Our Political Courage?

David Sirota has a great article at the Huffington Post regarding what is worse: being lied to or hearing the truth. I apologize for belaboring this point, but compromising on the war at this point is ludicrous. Sirota calls it the innocent bystander Fable. See below:

Now Democrats are beginning to again "compromise" on a bill to end this war. When war critics were told wait until September. Well, here it is September and what is happening. The spineless democrats make their play. An article at Politico says the democrats are beginning to compromise once again this is how they justify it: "The strategic shift is certain to anger some war critics, but it reflects the reality that Democrats lack the votes to force President Bush's hand. 'We are trying to manage expectations that we can't end the war today or next week or next month,' said one Democrat involved in the discussions. 'We have to make sure everyone understands that.'"

This is preposterous. Sirota says and I quote: "Anyone who has read the U.S. Constitution knows this is a fabrication. Congress has the power of the purse, meaning it has the ultimate veto over the war. Democrats control both chambers of Congress, meaning they have the ultimate veto over the war. If they chose not to schedule a vote to give Bush a blank check, the war would end." Democrats continue to claim they are powerless though they control an entire branch of government.

Democrats now have the audacity to intimate that Senator Salazar's non-binding bill a heroic bill to the end the war, though previously the majority of the democrats called the bill toothless. The Democrats lack the spine or political courage to do anything about this war. Where is Russ Feingold. I'll take him as a Presidential candidate.

Sirota, in his article then talks about the Republicans and their honesty: "Our strategy in Iraq, in the short term, causes a lot of pain, but in the long term, prevents a lot of problems for the party." What is worse knowing you can end the war by simply refusing to allow a vote in Congress or by claiming the Republican party is more important than American lives and of course Iraqi lives that are being lost by the boatload?

In 2006 it was a banner year for the corrupt Republicans. Jack Abramoff is in prison. Ex-Rep. Duke Cunningham (R-CA) is in prison. Ex-Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH) is in prison. Ex-Reps. Mark Foley (R-FL), Katherine Harris (R-FL), Tom DeLay (R-TX), Curt Weldon (R-PA), and Ex-Sen. Conrad Burns (R-MT), all either lost or did not seek reelection. It helped them lose the 2006 elections, with the help of the slogan from DNC chairman Howard Dean, the "culture of corruption." Republicans were going to go in a different direction they said.

1) Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) and 2) Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) with their sex scandals (the attempted restroom tryst and numerous successful hotel room trysts, respectively). 3) Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) and 4) Rep. Don Young (R-AK) are under investigation for their ties to the oil company Veco (though that's just the tip of the iceberg for Young). 5) Reps. Tom Feeney (R-FL) and 6) John Doolittle (R-CA) have found themselves the focus of a reinvigorated Abramoff investigation (though Abramoff is in prison, he's still busily cooperating). 7) Rep. Rick Renzi (R-AZ) had his house raided. 8) The FBI is investigating Rep. Gary Miller's (R-CA) land deals.

9) Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) whose land deal with a businessman and campaign contributor became such a scandal that she finally just sold back the plot of land.

10) Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-CA) is still apparently under federal investigation. And 11) Rep. Ken Calvert's (R-CA) land deals are still winning scrutiny. And of course 12) Sen. Pete Domenici (R-NM) and 13) Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM) facing ethics committee investigations for their calls last October to former U.S. attorney David Iglesias about his office's investigation of a state Democrat.

This list is only the congressional investigations and does not include the many crimes of the Bush administration that are probably worse than anything on the list. Just imagine if these morons were democrat. It would be illegal to be democrat.

What possesses a Senator from South Carolina to pose with a sign that compares the two front running Democrats with the premier terrorist? Assclown? The sign says if you have trouble reading it: Obama, Osama and Chelsea's Moma Say Cut and Run. Graham says he was handed the sign as he was leaving. Ok, you idiot. Senator Vitter on the DC Madame List: Assclown

Senator Vitter is on the DC Madame List, an escort service in DC that "takes care" of its clients needs. He said of the matter: "This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible," Vitter said in the statement. "Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there — with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way."
