Who Needs Speed Racer?

My brother, John Fogarty, has been putting out local New Jersey art for years, and doing it for much less than the wacked-out Wachowski Brothers, creators of the middling, Speed Racer. I have to admit, I have not seen the popcorn light show that is their attempt at a film version of the classic pre-cursor to Anime, but I don't really plan to spend $10 to see great colors when I can just look at the bouncing balls of color in this recent piece by Mr. Fogarty.

More NJ Art!

John Fogarty, who has been on the SG before, keeps evolving. His work, which ranges from the abstract to surrealist, can be seen at http://etsy.com/ or http://flickr.com/. At Etsy, his work is for sale. Participate in supporting local art.

hob'art: a co-operative art gallery in hoboken,nj

there was a nice write up in the latest issue of Palisades magazine about artists and art groups in Hudson & Bergen Counties. however i was disappointed that there was not any mention of the Hob'art co-operative gallery, of which i'm a member. i've since learned that it was an accidental omission so hopefully we'll see some mention another time. hob'art has a lot of exciting shows & events planned for this year so check their website often for updates.

that being said, i thought i'd highlight one artist in the group whose work i love. Meredeth Turshen is an artist, teacher and writer living in Hoboken, NJ, and teaching at Rutgers University. She exhibits regularly with Viridian Artists and Ceres galleries in New York City and with hob'art. Her artwork explores line and color non-figuratively in abstract compositions, and draws inspiration from nature, landscape and still life, as well as the human figure. You can view her artwork, writing, and current events on her website.

another kind of November 1st

my brother, and local NJ artist, John Fogarty, keeps the art flowing with a new piece, steeped in surrealism, and floating in color. Keep staring until you start floating. Support NJ art and check out his stuff on http://flickr.com/.
