Assclown of the Year: Joe Lieberman

Check out this clip where Lieberman discusses supporting a 2008 "democratic" Presidential candidate. What the hell happened to this guy? Talk about a fall from grace. He said "well, ya know no democratic nominee sought my support. John McCain is a friend and he sought my support." Like that is the test. Only if someone seeks your support. This guy should be stripped of all of his committee assignments and disgraced.

From betraying the Katrina victims by shutting the investigation down, though he promised to push forward to the Lieberman "let us bomb Iran amendment" to supporting every Iraq war resolution and distorting every vote and crisis in Iraq, to now supporting John McCain for President, this guy is the truest assclown. Though, George Bush and Karl Rove are the standard, Lieberman is not far behind. Let's hope Connecticut voters smarten up in four years.

Lieberman is Called to Resign: Harry Reid Should Follow and Strip Him of His Leadership Posts

Though, I am very glad the Dems took back Congress this year. My fervent hope was that Lamont could have beaten Lieberman who fooled Democrats in Connecticut. He enthusiastically called for a strike against Iran last week. Definitely the favorite for Assclown of the Week. But, maybe a backlash is coming:

Connecticut for Lieberman Party Chairman John Orman called Tuesday for Sen. Joe Lieberman to resign, saying his advocacy of a military strike against Iran could explode into a global conflict.

“He has crossed the line,” said Orman, a professor of politics at Fairfield University. “His unilateral warmongering could lead to a new World War III.”

During an appearance on “Face the Nation” on CBS Sunday, Lieberman said the United States should consider a military strike against Iran because of Tehran’s involvement in Iraq.[..]
Orman, a former Democrat, switched party affiliation and took over the Connecticut for Lieberman Party earlier this year. Lieberman created the party last August to run for re-election as an independent after losing the state’s Democratic primary to Ned Lamont of Greenwich. However, Lieberman never joined the new party and remains a registered Democrat.

Orman issued a news release Tuesday asking Lieberman to immediately resign and urging Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell to appoint Susan Henshaw, secretary of the Connecticut for Lieberman Party, as his replacement.
Governor Rell should appoint Lamont, the proper Democratic nominee.
